When it comes to pomp and circumstance, nobody does it better than Britain and the eyes of the world were on us today for the union of Prince William and Kate at Westminster Abbey.
Kings, queen, princes and princesses from across the globe, A-list celebrities, up to a million cheering well-wishers thronging the streets, thousands of soldiers, union jacks flying everywhere, iconic buildings and military fly-pasts, it was an occasion that had everything.
Despite showing some nerves in front of an estimate TV audience of two billion, the young couple playing centre stage pulled the whole thing off perfectly, imbuing the event with their own personalities and even a sense of fun, as they sped away from Buckingham Palace to Clarence House in Prince Charles' vintage Aston Martin.
